SM on Course

Road: this weekend is Sweden’s second Cycling Championship of all time.Saturday 6 december, sprint qualifying, elimination race and tidslopp, Sunday 7 december sprint finals, points races and persecution.

Some of Sweden’s elite cyclists who are registered for this weekend’s races in Falun is Jonas ahlstrand, Swedish Champion in the 200, which this year have been Pro cyclist in Dutch team Giant Shimano, and Olympic cyclist Isabelle S, which also became a Swedish Champion in persecution and ban the race points the race last year. Even last year’s men’s champion in the kilometre race, David Mayer, will participate to defend the title. Over Two Million to the Children’s Cancer Foundation

By road: the large sports race Ride of Hope reached his target of two million kronor in the collection to the children’s cancer Foundation. Reached the goal also made Oliver and Martin who ran the last leg on children’s bikes. See the movie here!

Last Sunday went Ride of Hope in case in the Haga Park in Stockholm. The race started nine days earlier in Lund, and seven days earlier. During the week, a total of 147 riders cycled all the way from Lund and Umeå, Sweden. Along the way participants are also connected and cycled any of the total of 14 stages. The number of starts ended on 2 039, which is a new record in the Ride of Hope-context. Alexander Gingsjö New Swedish Champion on Line

Road: last year’s pace, masters, åkstarke Alexander Gingsjö from Crowd and Team three mountains-Bianchi, won a somewhat surprising home SM-gold in today’s road race for Lord young. Richard L, Åhus CK took the silver and Tobias ludvigsson, CK took bronze.

It took a while before a breakout came away when it was sometimes very activity sometimes cautious rides in the peloton. The group ranged in size but in General was just over ten cyclists.

Alexander Gingsjö joined the group later in the race when the group that mostly consisted of 14 cyclists. After about 120 kilometers the peloton were disorganised and Tobias Lahiri – one of the favourites–came away with Edvin Wagh. The bridged up to the front group where Gingsjö attacked with L from Argon18.  Continue reading “Alexander Gingsjö New Swedish Champion on Line”

Gustav Larsson Is Betting on the Hour Record

Highway: 34-year-old Gustav Larsson will try to beat the hour record at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester on Saturday 14 March.

L becomes the fourth rider who gives himself to the challenge this year. After BMC’s Rohan Dennis set the current record of 52.491 kilometers made both Jack Bobridge and Thomas Dekker a try, without success. Last in the line of the record attempt was Britain’s para-athlete Dame Sarah Storey who failed to beat the women’s hour record.

Gustav Larsson hope his credentials as pace specialist, which among other things gave him a silver medal in both the 2008 and 2009 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, will be enough to put a new note in the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) book. Continue reading “Gustav Larsson Is Betting on the Hour Record”

4000 Miles in 1000 Days

Road: A distance equivalent to Equatorial lengths. That’s what awaits Fredrika Oak when she today embarks on a solo expedition. The goal is that of 1,000 days bicycling 4,000 miles across five continents, and to raise the issue of girls ‘ and women’s vulnerability in many parts of the world.

Fredrika Eks bike adventure called The Bike Ramble and is also a fundraiser for ActionAid and women. Departure is from the home town of Sundsvall on 8 March on international women’s day.

– The first major objective is to reach Istanbul. This adventure takes off, says Frederica.
The route goes through the Middle East, and via the former Soviet Union into China. The new year hope Fredrika celebrate in Singapore, before she continues the adventure in Australia. Also southern, Central and North America to be grazed by before she lands in Europe to ride the last leg home to Sweden.

Emma Swedish Champion Again

Road: Emma Johansson, härnösands CK, won today’s race in the Swedish championships on the road and took his fifth Championship Gold on the line.The Silver went to Sara Mustonen, Team Crescent D.A.R. E staffanstorp and the bronze to Hanna N, Åhus CK.

The competition was held at Sollerön in Dalarna on a course that was 125 kilometers long, the Hill up towards Gesunda was the most demanding in the otherwise rather flat conditions.

Already in the first lap put Emma pedal up the Gesundabacken and fragmented field. Three of them remained in the lead, Hanna N, Sara Mustonen and Emma Johansson, but was later acquired by the peloton, and the Group was neutralized. MOA Johansson found an opportunity to attack and drove along with Emma for about four miles until Emma pulled away and continued to race in the lonely Majesty to take its fifth line-gold in NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
